Iqbal is a Chartered Engineer and has over 20 years experience in hydraulic modelling and design within engineering consultancies in the water industry. His main areas of expertise are in fluvial flood risk, river engineering and sewerage flood alleviation. With experience of managing all aspects of the analysis and design of flood management schemes and land drainage, Iqbal has developed a broad water engineering capability within the company. Iqbal is the Service Director for BWB’s Water Service, which comprises teams of engineers, graduates and scientists within our Nottingham, Manchester and Birmingham offices delivering flood modelling, drainage design and Flood Risk Assessments at a strategic and local level for private and public sector clients.
Delivering development in a changing climate
With the greater frequency of flood events and publication of changes in guidance related to climate change, flood risk is a significant constraint to the delivery of development and planning of growth. This presentation will outline the changes to the flood risk assessment process and outcomes created by the change in climate change guidance with examples on its implementation.
